Prevention Measures


There’s no way to completely prevent varicose veins and spider veins, but some preventive measures may prevent or improve varicose veins in some extent through improving your circulation and muscle tone. These measures can relieve your symptoms, slow the progression of varicose veins, and prevent complications. They are especially important if you have a family history of varicose veins.

  • Wearing compression stockings
  • Regularly elevating the legs
  • Avoiding long periods of standing or sitting
  • Avoid constant heavy lifting
  • Regularly Exercising
  • Watching your weight
  • Eating a high-fiber, low-salt diet
  • Avoiding high heels and tight hosiery
